Privacy Policy
Last updated October 2, 2026
This policy explains what Facefwd LLC collects when you use Homeowners Quiz, how we use it, and who we share it with. We've kept it as plain as we can.
Who we are
Homeowners Quiz is a free checkup for your home. It's run by Facefwd LLC ("we," "us," or "our").
We're not a home inspector, an insurance company, or a security company. We connect homeowners with partners that offer home security, home warranties, and home equity options, and those partners pay us.
You can reach us at privacy@facefwd.ai or by mail at 135 W 20th St, 5th Floor, New York, NY 10011.
What we collect
- Quiz answers. The type of home you own, how long you've lived there, how old your home is, how old your heating, AC, and roof are, what home security you have, whether you have a home warranty, what worries you most, any big plans for the next year, roughly how much is left on your mortgage if you answer, and your ZIP code. We also save your home protection score, which we work out from your answers, whether your results show a home equity step, and which version of the first question you saw (we test two).
- Contact details. Your first and last name, email, and phone number, only if you give them to us. The checkup doesn't ask for them. Your results page has an optional form to get your results by email, and it asks for them there.
- Your consent record. When you check the consent box, we save the exact words you agreed to, their version, the date and time, the page address, your IP address, and your browser's user agent. If we used TrustedForm when you asked for your results by email, we keep its certificate link with your consent record.
- Device and technical data. Your IP address, your browser's user agent (a short description of your browser and device), and the address of the page you're on.
- Ad details. If you came from an ad: the UTM parameters in the link (tags that name the ad campaign), Google's campaign ID, the ad ID, the click ID the ad platform added (from Meta, Google, Microsoft, RevContent, Taboola, or Outbrain), and Meta's _fbc and _fbp cookies. We also save the first page you landed on, the site that sent you, when you arrived, and which of our articles you read before the checkup.
- Partner link clicks. When you tap a partner link on your results, in one of our articles, or in one of our guides, we record which offer you tapped and when, your IP address, your browser's user agent, and the page you tapped it on (for an article or a guide, its address without the ad tags). On your results, we add your quiz's reference number. In an article, we add which article and which spot on the page. In a guide, we add which guide. For both, we add the ad details from the link you came in on.
How we collect it
- From you. When you answer the checkup's questions, and if you fill in the form on your results page to get them by email.
- From your browser. Your browser sends your IP address, user agent, and page address with each visit. The link from an ad carries the ad details listed above.
- Through cookies. We use Google Tag Manager, a Google tool, to load Google Analytics and tags from ad platforms such as Meta and Google Ads. Those tags can set and read cookies in your browser, including Google Analytics' _ga cookies, Google Ads' _gcl cookies, and Meta's _fbc and _fbp cookies. If you opt out, or your browser sends Global Privacy Control, the ad tags don't run and Google Analytics doesn't set or read cookies on this browser. See Cookies and tracking.
How we use it
- To run the quiz and show your results.
- To email you a link to your results, if you ask for it.
- To email and text you, marketing included, if you agree on your results page.
- To keep proof of your consent to emails and texts.
- To see which ads bring people here, and to show our ads to people who may find them useful.
- To keep track of partner referrals, so partners can pay us.
- To spot fraud, bots, and misuse, and to keep the site running.
- To follow the law and respond to lawful requests.
Your privacy choices
You can opt out of the sale or sharing of your information, and of targeted ads, on this browser. When you do, or when your browser sends Global Privacy Control, our site stops running ad tags, including Meta's and Google's, on this browser. Google Analytics still counts visits, but without setting or reading cookies, so it has no ID for your browser.
On this browser
You haven't opted out of ad tracking.
Your choice is saved in this browser only. If you clear your browser data, switch browsers, or use another device, you'll need to choose again. An opt-out starts right away. If you opt back in, that takes effect the next time you open or reload this site.
To opt out of the sale or sharing of information we already have about you, like your contact details, email privacy@facefwd.ai. You can also use any of the rights in the next section.
Your state privacy rights
If you live in California or another state with a consumer privacy law, you may have the right to:
- Know and access. Ask what personal information we've collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we've shared it with, and get a copy.
- Delete. Ask us to delete your personal information. We may keep some records the law lets or requires us to keep, like proof of consent.
- Correct. Ask us to fix information that's wrong.
- Opt out. Tell us not to sell or share your personal information, or use it for targeted ads. See Your privacy choices.
- Appeal. Ask us to take another look if we turn down your request. If we still say no, you can contact your state attorney general.
- Be treated the same. Using these rights won't change your home protection score or ratings, or what the checkup costs you (nothing). You see your results without giving any contact details. To get them by email, the form on your results page asks you to agree that Homeowners Quiz and Facefwd LLC may email and text you; see Notice of financial incentive.
How to make a request
Email privacy@facefwd.ai or write to us at 135 W 20th St, 5th Floor, New York, NY 10011. Tell us which right you'd like to use.
Authorized agents. Someone you authorize can make a request for you. We may ask for proof that you gave them permission, and ask you to confirm your identity with us directly.
Verification. Before we act on a request to know, delete, or correct, we check that it really comes from you. Usually we'll ask you to confirm the email or phone number you gave us. We use what you send only to check your request.
We'll respond within the time your state's law allows.
Notice of financial incentive
What it is. The checkup and its results are free, and they need no contact details. To get your results by email, the form on your results page asks for your name, email, and phone number and for your agreement that Homeowners Quiz and Facefwd LLC may email and text you, marketing included. Because we gain from being able to reach you, the law may treat the emailed results as a financial incentive.
What it covers. The details listed in What we collect and the sharing described in How we share it.
How to join. Fill in the form on your results page and check its box.
How to withdraw. At any time, as explained in Emails and texts; we'll stop emailing and texting you from then on. Your results stay available at their link.
Why we think it's fair. We work out the value of your details from what reaching you by email and text earns us, less what it costs us to run the checkup, and we believe the free results are reasonably related to that value.
Emails and texts
The checkup doesn't ask for your contact details. Your results page has an optional form to get your results by email. To send it, you check its consent box, and so you agree that Homeowners Quiz and Facefwd LLC may send you emails and text messages, marketing included, at the email and number you gave, including with automated technology, as described next to that box. It names no other company, and we don't pass your details from it to our partners. Leaving the form alone changes nothing about your results, and your consent is not a condition of buying anything.
You can withdraw your consent at any time, in any reasonable way. For example:
- Reply STOP to a text.
- Use the unsubscribe link in an email.
- Contact us at privacy@facefwd.ai.
If you tell us, we record your request and act on it within 10 business days. If your consent also named other companies, we pass your request on to each of them in that time.
How long we keep it
We keep information as long as we need it for the reasons in this policy, or as long as the law requires.
- Consent records. 5 years from the day you gave consent, so we can show what you agreed to.
- Checkups, including contact details. 5 years from the day you finished the checkup.
- Checkups without contact details. 24 months.
- Requests to withdraw consent. Kept even after we delete your other information: your phone number or email and your request stay on our do not contact list, so we never contact you again.
- Partner link clicks. 24 months.
How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No website or system is perfectly secure, though, so we can't promise yours will always be safe.
Children
Homeowners Quiz is for adults. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think someone under 18 has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
California notice at collection
If you live in California, here's a summary of the personal information we collect, why, whether we sell or share it, and how long we keep it. The sections above have the details.

If you ask for your results by email, from then on Meta gets a scrambled (hashed) copy of your name, email, and phone with each page you visit and each partner link you tap on this browser, your results page included, and again from our servers if a partner tells us you finished its form, to match our ads to you, unless you opt out. Your quiz's reference number goes to home warranty and home equity partners when you tap their links. Google sees your IP address when Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics load on our pages. Google Analytics also gets your quiz's reference number, unless you opt out, and can see it in the address of your results page either way. Ad platforms can see your IP address through their tags, unless you opt out, and on your results page they also see its address, which includes your quiz's reference number.
