How we work with partners

Homeowners Quiz is an independent, advertising-supported site. Some or all of the offers you see here come from third-party partners who pay us. That compensation may affect which offers appear and the order they appear in.

We don't show every company in the market, so the offers on your results page and in our guides are not a complete list of what is available to you. Everything we publish is general information. It is not insurance, financial, or legal advice.

Your results link to ADT. Tapping that link opens their site. It carries a reference number for the tap and the ID of the ad you came from, if any, and never your name, phone, or email. If you fill in their form once you are there, they may pay us for it. From that point their terms and privacy policy apply, not ours.

The checkup doesn't ask for your contact details. Your results page has an optional form to get your results by email. To send it, you check one box, and so you agree that Homeowners Quiz and Facefwd LLC may email and text you, marketing included. That box names no partner, and we don't pass your details from that form to ADT.

Your results also link to American Home Shield, and so do some of our articles. Those links work the same way: a reference number and the ad ID, never your name, phone, or email. From one of our articles, the link carries only a reference number for that tap. If you fill in a partner's form on their site, they may pay us.

We don't pass your details from the form on your results page to American Home Shield either.

Your results link to LendingTree for home equity options. That link carries a reference number and the ad ID, never your name, phone, or email. If you fill in their form on their site, they may pay us.

Your results show the home equity step only when your answers suggest it may fit: you have lived in your home 5 years or more, you owe less than half its value or nothing, and you have a big plan. We don't pass your contact details, your plans, or your mortgage answers to LendingTree.

Some of our articles include links to partner offers. Every page with partner links, our articles and your results alike, carries an Advertiser Disclosure at the top that says we may be paid when you use them. Our free checkup, linked from these articles, links to the same partners from your results. Partners can't pay to change the advice in our articles, and every figure in them names its public source.

Our partners don't review, approve, or request changes to our guides, except where the law requires it. Guides may carry partner links that are part of our commercial relationships. What we write about, and what we conclude, we decide ourselves.

Every figure in a guide names the public source it came from, and each guide shows when it was last updated. Rates, terms, and what a plan covers change often, so something that was accurate the day we published it may not stay accurate.

Your home protection score and ratings come from your answers, using the same rules for everyone. Partners can't pay to change them.
